Don Berry of Edinburgh USA shot a final round 1-under par 71 for a two-day total of 4-under par 140 to win his seventh Minnesota PGA Professional Championship held August 29-30 at Medina G&CC.

Finishing one shot back at 3-under par 141 was first round leader Luke Benoit of Rush Creek GC and David Tentis of Troy Burne GC.  The low eight professionals advance to the 2012 PGA Professional Championship being held next June at the Bayonet Black Horse in California.  Joining Berry, Benoit and Tentis are Mike Flaherty of Hastings CC (143), Ben Meyers of Medina G&CC (143), Adam Guili of Edinburgh USA (143), Jeff Kringen of Spring Hill GC (145) and Craig Brischke of Tanners Brook GC (145), who advanced in a playoff over Shannon O’Neil of Rich Spring GC.

Defending champion Jeff Sorenson of Columbia GC finished tied for sixteenth at 148, but still advances based on his top 20 finish in the 2011 PGA Professional Championship.

The Minnesota PGA Professional Championship is presented by Club Car, Mercedes, Omega and supported by the PGA Tour, Titleist/Foot-Joy, Callaway, Nike, and TaylorMade adidas Ashworth.
