TWINS NOTES: ­·    Sam Deduno made his second start of the season with the Twins and first ever at Target Field…tonight marked the 22nd time a Twins starter has failed to pitch 5.0 innings-or-more. ·    Joe Mauer hit his 19th double of the season in the first inning and finished the game 3-for-4, raising his season batting average to .333, marking his averages highest point of the season…he now has 1,198 career hits, passing Chuck Knoblauch (1,197) for eighth on the Twins’ all-time hits list.  ·    Mauer played in his 1,000th game tonight…his first hit of the night marked his 100th of the season.·    With a walk in his second at-bat, Mauer now has 511 career walks and is two shy of tying Knoblauch (513) for sixth on the Twins’ all-time list.  ·    Trevor Plouffe hit an infield single in the second inning, extending his career-high hitting streak to 15 games…Plouffe finished the game 1-for-4.·    Entering the game tonight, the Twins had turned a Major League high, 103 double plays…they turned three more double plays tonight for 106 in 90 games…they are on pace to turn 191.·    Jamey Carroll drove in his 28th run of the season and third of the series with a fourth inning double…with a 2-for-4 night, he is now 4-for-7 with three rbi this series…tonight was his 17th multi-hit game of the season and second consecutive game with multiple hits.·    The Twins’ bullpen tossed 4.2 innings shutout innings tonight, allowing just three hits and walking two, while striking out six batters…this was the 38th time this season that the Twins bullpen has pitched over 4.0 innings.·    Glen Perkins struck out the side in the eighth inning, it was the third time this season he has struck out three batters in one inning…he has 47 strikeouts in 39.2 innings pitched.·    Tonight’s time of game was 3:43, which is the longest 9-inning game of the season, passing May 18 at Milwaukee which lasted 3:38.·    The Twins placed pitcher Matt Capps on the 15-day disabled list with an irritated right rotator cuff, to fill Capps’ spot on the roster, the Twins recalled Nick Blackburn from Triple-A Rochester.
