While Twins reserve catcher Mike Redmond is indifferent about Brett Favre mania, he is excited about the prospects of his hometown team, the Seattle Seahawks. The Washington native is high on the team’s 1st round pick LB Aaron Curry and the recent signing of veteran RB Edgerrin James.

The back-up backstop believes the key to the ‘Hawks success is the health of QB Matt Hasselback. When I pointed out the Seahawks also added WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh by outbidding the Vikings for the free agent, Redmond quickly added, “Yeah, but you guys stole (Steve) Hutchinson from us.”

The Vikings maneuvering to sign Hutchinson in 2006 included a “poison pill” clause in his contract that made the restricted free agent’s return to Seattle fiscally irresponsible for the Seahawks. It is still a sore spot for Redmond and all other diehard Seahawks fans.

Keep your eyes open, Redmond is also contemplating flying in from Washington to attend the Seahawks/Vikings game at the Metrodome on November 22.
