When Favre took the field at Lambeau for the first time in an opposing uniform he was greeted with a solid round of boos from a fan base that adored him for 17 years,
Early on Favre not much of a factor. But by early in the second half, Favre started to take control. With 13:08 to go in the 3rd quarter Favre found Percy Harvin for a 51-yard touchdown to extend Minnesota’s lead to 24-3. Earlier it was Harvin’s return of a kickoff deep into Packers territory and a peronsal foul penalty on the Packers on a 3rd down play that failed, set up the Vikings first score, a one yard plunge by Adrian Peterson on a 4th and goal from the one yard line. The touchdown by Peterson put the Vikings up 7-3 with just over one minute remaining in the first quarter.
Early in the second quarter Favre got on the board as he fired a strike to tight end Visanthe Shiancoe 12 yards for a touchdown to make it 14-3 Vikings. On the ensuing drive the Vikings defense rises to the occasion as Jared Allen records the Vikes 3rd sack of the game and Chad Greenway bats down another Aaron Rodgers pass to force antoher Pakcers punt. The Vikngs add a field goal at the end of the half to take a 17-3 led into the locker room.
Favre and the Vikings began the second half by taking their bigest lead of the day as Favre hit Percy Harvin on a 51 yard strike to make it 24-3. The Packers and AAron Rogers came back and got with 4 at 24-20,,,but in the end it was Favre with all the answers and Rodgers was unable to answer the bell late in the game.
