Wolves get pasted by Warriors 146-105

The losses continue to pile up for Kurt Rambis and the Minnesota Timberwolves. Monday night an embarrassing 146-105 loss on the road at Golden State handed Minnesota it’s 7th straight defeat. With the game knotted at 40 midway through the second quarter, the Warriors used a 9-0 run to take control and the lead continued to grow from there. Numerous Warriors filled the stat sheet, led by Stephen Jackson’s career-high 15 assists and Kelenna Azubuike’s 31 points. Jonny Flynn paced the Wolves with 20 points and six assists while Sasha Pavlovic connected on three treys en route to a season-high 17 points.
Minnesota and Portland will meet for the second time in four days on Wednesday night after the Blazers took the first meeting of the season 116-93 on Sunday night in the Rose City. Al Jefferson’s first double-double of the season (12 points, 10 rebounds) and Nathan Jawai’s career night (16 points, 6 rebounds) were not enough as Portland used an early 8-0 run to assume control and cruise to the win. The win extended Portland’s streak over Minnesota to nine consecutive games, including eight straight at the Rose Garden. The Wolves trail 56-24 in the all-time series.
