A great second half by Brett Favre and the Vikings offense nearly brought Minnesota back from the dead…but Adrian Peterson’s critical fumble in overtime and the Vikings defense inability to stop a usually listless Bears offense costs Minnesota a 36-30 OT loss. With the loss Minnesota dropped three out of four games in December and could possibly enter the playoffs as the number four seed in the NFC. The Vikings trailed 16-0 at the half but rallied behind Favre to tie the game at 30 in the final seconds of the fourth quarter. But Adrian Peterson’s fumble after a 13 yard catch and run in overtime led to the Bears game winning touchdown. The loss drops Minnesota to 11-and-4 on the season. Wins by Arizona and Philadelphia this weekend could drop the Vikings all the way down to the number four seed in the NFC playoffs.
