JASON PRIDIE CLAIMED OFF WAIVERS BY METS

   Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that outfielder Jason Pridie has been claimed off waivers by the New York Mets.  Pridie’s spot on the 40-man roster was filled by the recent signing of Orlando Hudson.   

The Twins have signed outfielder Jacque Jones to a minor league contract with an invite to Major League camp.  Jones made his Major League debut with the Twins in 1999.  He has a career batting average of .277 (1272-for-4594) with 255 doubles, 19 triples, 165 home runs and 630 rbi in 1302 games with the Twins, Chicago Cubs, Detroit Tigers and Florida Marlins.

In addition, catcher/infielder Toby Gardenhire has received an invite to Major League camp.
