Gophers-USCLast week it was Coyotes…this week it was Trojans. Next week Huskies and before you know it it might be Augies, Tommies or Johnnies. Yes, they are standing in line to play in the Gophers new multi-million dollar playpen and come away with a win. Coach Brew’s mighty Gophers are now 0 and 2 at TCF Bank Stadium thanks to a 32-21 defeat at the hands of a less than stellar USC squad. But beating the Gophers these days does not take stardom. Minnesota has now yielded 73 points on their home turf over the last two weeks and believe it or not, they looked better against USC than they did against USD (South Dakota) a week earlier. Will this discombobulated lot win a Big Ten game this year? No answers here, just advice. Joel Maturi needs to start compiling a wish list now. A wish list of who he would like to see roaming the sidelines at TCF Bank Stadium for the next 8 to 10 years, and it probably should be someone with some star power. Wishful thinkers want Tony Dungy to come out of coaching retirement. That probably won’t happen, but there better be a plan because the 2010 Gophers are headed for another two or three win season, maybe.                                           Photos by Bryan Singer          Photo Gallery
