Twins Release 165 Game Schedule for 2011

MINNEAPOLIS (satire) — With their first season in beautiful Target Field in the books, it’s time to look ahead with unbridled optimism to next year. With that in mind the Minnesota Twins recently unvieled their 165-game 2011 schedule.

Joe Mauer and the boys will open their 51st campaign north of the border with a three game set in Toronto beginning on April 1. From there the team will head to the Big Apple for 4 against the hated Yankees (boooooo). The Twins will finally kick off their 2nd season in beautiful Target Field on Friday, April 8 with a 3:10 matinee against Oakland.

The home schedule is highlighted with interleague match-ups against San Diego (June 17-19), the Dodgers (June 27-29) and Milwaukee (July 1-3). The Red Sox and Yankees will visit beautiful Target Field in August (8-10 and 18-21). As usual, the season is loaded with exciting AL Central contests, as the Twins will face the White Sox, Tigers, Indians and Royals 18 times each.

The regular season winds down with a three game set against Kansas City at beautiful Target Field starting on September 26 before concluding with 3 games against the Yankees in early October. The location of those contests will be determined by the teams’ regular season records.
