What in the name of Sean Hill is going on at Winter Park? Over the last two weeks, Randy Moss has hardly been a part of the Vikings game plan and Sunday in New England they only looked his way three times (he caught one pass for 8 yards). On top of that, Moss claimed afterwards that the Vikings did not heed his advice on how to attack his old team, the New England Patriots. He also questioned why Brad Childress did not go for a field goal late in the first half on fourth and goal from the one. Moss isn’t the only one who wondered about that. Anyone with a brain that was watching had to be thinking the same thing. Moss just had the guts to say it.
Randy Moss was supposed to be the guy that was going to stretch the defense so that Brett Favre could exploit defenses with Brad Childress’s kick-axe offense. Watch this offense: everything is underneath or horizontal. The vertical passing game is almost non-existent…was before Moss, was with Moss, will be now that he is gone. ESPN analyst Trent Dilfer calls it vanilla and unimaginitive. That’s being kind.
Chilly ran off Daunte Culpepper, ran off Brad Johnson, Marcus Robinson and now Randy Moss…not to mention his continuing feuds with Favre. Ziggy Wilf has spent millions to bring in talent so that Coach Dum Dum could win: Favre, Hutchinson, Berrian, Moss, Shiancoe to name a few. Dum Dum has been given the keys to a Mercedes and it drives it like a mo-ped.
With big time talent come big-time personalities, something Dum Dum can’t handle. This is a guy so paranoid that he had black tarp put on all the fences around Winter Park 4 years ago so spies couldn’t watch the secret plays he puts in every week. Let’s see, they’re going to hand off to AP 25 times a game and Favre is going to throw 7 yard horizontal passes for the rest. If it wasn’t for Favre changing plays at the line umpteen times last year, there would not have been an NFC Championship game run. Bud Grant didn’t need a tarp, neither did Jerry Burns, Dennis Green or even Mike Tice.
The 2010 season is all but lost. It is a debacle unfolding before our very eyes. Last man standing, please turn out the lights at the Dome, because this is a lost cause with Dum Dum running the show.
NOTE TO ZIGGY WILF: Fix the problem now. Don’t let another defensive coordinator go someplace else to become head coach and win a Super Bowl. Hand the keys to your Mercedes to Leslie Fraizer and let Dum Dum drive someone else’s moped off a cliff.
